AI Exposure AI Semiconductor / Silicon Carbide for AI Power

Wolfspeed makes silicon-carbide (SiC) materials and power devices that improve power efficiency in EVs, industrial systems and AI-data-centre power.

Core Focus

Silicon-carbide wafers and power devices for automotive, industrial and energy/data-centre power.

Key Initiatives
  • Silicon-carbide power Wolfspeed's SiC devices improve efficiency in high-power applications, including data-centre power.
  • Materials leadership It supplies SiC wafers/materials to the broader power-semiconductor industry.
  • Capacity expansion New fabs target growing SiC demand across electrification.
Why Investors Should Care
  • Pure-play on silicon-carbide power for electrification and data-centre power.
  • Materials-plus-devices position across the SiC value chain.
  • Deeply loss-making, heavily indebted and capital-intensive — high-risk/restructuring.
  • Balance-sheet, demand and execution risks are severe.
AI InvestmentAI exposure is indirect; heavy investment funds SiC materials and device capacity.
AI RevenueNo AI-specific revenue is disclosed; data-centre/EV power demand drives SiC sales.
ROI (Now)Weak — heavy losses and debt dominate the current picture.
ROI (Expected)SiC adoption in data-centre/EV power is the long-term thesis, subject to solvency.
