Gaudi 3 accelerators + Xeon AI + 18A foundry process.
- Gaudi AI accelerators Intel's Gaudi accelerators target AI training/inference as a lower-cost alternative, though adoption has lagged NVIDIA/AMD.
- AI PCs (Core Ultra) Intel's Core Ultra chips with built-in NPUs drive the AI-PC refresh cycle.
- Foundry for AI silicon Intel Foundry aims to manufacture advanced AI chips for itself and external customers.
- A turnaround bet — Intel is loss-making (negative margins) amid a costly foundry build-out.
- AI-PC NPUs and foundry are the long-term optionality; data-centre AI share is weak.
- Government support and potential foundry customers are catalysts.
- High execution risk; the AI-accelerator gap versus NVIDIA/AMD is significant.
